Seeing double – Phoenix newborn photographer

These little sweetums were just precious!  Baby brother and sister were so comfy and snuggly at three weeks old.  I love playing with textures on certain images – this one was screaming “use a texture”  and I LOVE how it turned out:)  Of course beautiful babies as models are a BIG plus too!!!

Two years later…

This little fella is very near and dear to my heart!  His mama and him were two of my very first clients and I have been lucky enough to see their family grow both in age and in numbers!  Just this past year, they were blessed in welcoming their second baby boy into the family and I was there to witness their AMAZING home birth.  with their first bambino just recently celebrating his second birthday I wanted to take them on a trip down memory lane.  Thank you “S” family from the bottom of my heart!  Trey’s newborn session was SUCH a great experience and hands down, it gave me the confidence that I needed when I was thinking of turning this hobby of mine into a career!  Still some of my all time FAVES.

Okay people, this is why I love this girl!  She is fearless!  Now don’t go judging, this shot was a done as a gift to her hubby whom completely gets her style and humor.  When she pitched me this idea my jaw dropped as I gasped {under my breath of course}.  I was truly petrified at this shoot, not only because guns of any kind scare the bejeezus out of me but also I thought “how the heck am I gonna pull this off?”  Well I actually LOVE how this turned out for them… maybe not the maternity shot to try and sell the rest of my clients, but for them – I love it!  And for those of you that know this family – I am sure you got a kick out of it when it showed up on her facebook page:)  Way to rock those 5 inch heals mama!

A few short weeks later I was there for the home birth of baby #2.  I must admit, I was TERRIFIED {hopefully it didn’t show}  I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but I am so glad I was there to experience a true miracle!  I was able to get there right in time.  When I left to go home I felt like I had drank about 60 red bulls – what an experience!  I can’t even begin to express the courage, love and determination of this entire family to make this happen ~ especially you mama!  whew!  I get butterflies again just thinking about it.

This beautiful mama and son duo were so fun, we hit it off right away – this was her third baby and I was giant and prego with my third as well at the time.  We just had a bunch in common and I really enjoyed meeting her and getting to know her adorable family!

More South Dakota

Some of my best memories of being in South Dakota visiting as a kid was going to the public pool.  Something about it reminds me of the movie The Sandlot ~ I couldn’t wait to take my kids there and I think they are going to remember this too!

South Dakota

July 27th, 2010 , Posted in personal | Comments (1)

South Dakota has got to be one of the most beautiful landscapes in North America.  I cannot wait to share some of the scenery here.  Makes me wanna pack up and leave the triple digit heat of AZ.  My kiddos are having a great time meeting their cousins.  Just some of our fun.

Just arriving at the Fargo airport

sodak01

How beautiful is this?  it was a few hour drive from Fargo to a small town in South Dakota that my folks grew up in.  This is a gas station along the way – yes, I said gas station.  They don’t look like this in AZ!

More from the archives!

July 26th, 2010 , Posted in newborn | Comments (2)

Well I am enjoying a couple weeks at the farm in South Dakota where my mother grew up.  We are exploring the farm and visiting with Cousins and Aunties and Uncles and having a blast!  We must be juicy because the mosquitos are LOVING us too:)  Anyway, I am in photographers absolute PARADISE, but before I share any of that fun, I gotta show off this little fella.  I can’t believe I am saying this, but he has turned ONE as well and this year has just been a blur.  I was giant and prego with my little guy when I was shooting this session and seeing him just made me soooo excited to meet my little bambino just two weeks later.  His parents were so great and even though this was their first baby, they looked like pro’s and grandpa is one heck of a photographer too so I know they have some fabulous images of his first year.  Happy belated 1st “R”
